About Yoga
Yoga is an ancient system of physical and mental practices originated in ancient India. The word yoga comes from the Sanskrit yuj samadhau which means to concentrate.
Yoga is a systematic practice of physical exercises, breath control and meditation. It develops harmony in the body and the mind. The practice includes postures called asanas, breathing techniques called pranayama, relaxation and the meditation.
Some of the main benefits of yoga are the muscles protection, increase of flexibility, protects the muscles from injuries, protects the spine, improves respiration, vitality and energy, perfects your posture, increase blood flow, relief stress, reduces muscles tension, calms and center the nervous system.
As time progresses, during practice, one learns how to align the body with earth and thereafter with the universe. You acquire patience, you become grounded and progress into a spiritual individual, you distance yourself from your ego and become part of being, while appreciating the simple things that you once were unable to see. Describing it from my own experience I would say that you finally start to live happily and feel fulfilled.
